Veena Sood is an award-winning actress, having performed in numerous theatre, television
and film productions across Canada, and the U.K. She is of East Indian descent, having immigrated to Canada from
Nairobi, Kenya at age 6.
She is internationally recognized - best known for her versatility in both comedy and drama.
She studied Drama at The University of Calgary with Improv Guru Keith Johnstone, and went
on to co-found & develop The Loose Moose Theatre Company, known
the world over for their improvisational theatre.
She’s premiered films at Sundance, London’s BFI Festival, and L.A.’s Outfest. She’s been a TV-series regular on numerous television shows, hosted TV specials, galas, awards events, and corporate functions throughout Canada & the U.K.
She’s toured her improvised theatre shows, been a featured performer at many theatre festivals including The Glasgow Comedy Festival, The Vancouver Comedy Festival and The Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
Currently Veena works in film and television projects, and is also developing Keith Johnstone’s The Life Game, an improvised theatre format of a staged biography of a guest’s life.
